Carol Balma
Carol Balma:
My husband, Bob and I were married 46 years ago at Village Lutheran Church in Bronxville, NY.  We have been blessed with 2 daughters, 2 sons-in-law and 6 very, very interesting grandchildren.  We moved to Connecticut seven years ago to be closer to our family.  I truly enjoy spending time with family and friends, and love a beautiful day at the beach, a good mystery book and, of course, a delicious dinner I don’t have to prepare.

I began working at OSLC in October 2005 full time as the church secretary.  Last August, I began working part time (Monday and Tuesday).   I feel very fortunate to be

able to start each day in such a special place.  The church secretarial position is extremely diversified.  With two part time secretaries we are able to share the workload and fill in when necessary.

I enjoy being able to be a part of spreading the Good News of Jesus through my work.

Sharin Mulvey-Burns:
I work Wednesday – Fridays at a shared Church Secretary position.  The tasks are diverse, so it is never boring here!

My husband Chuck and I will be married 4 years in November. We love raising 8-year-old Adam, a self-proclaimed “man of action”. Chuck has 2 daughters, Kate and Tori, 26 and 22, who work and live in Boston and L.A, and we look forward to reunions with the whole family! Chuck and I volunteer for OSL’s Worship Team and FaithQuest. We both enjoy praising God through music, and sharing Jesus with children. I love to be with my family and friends, in the pool, walking- through a city or on a nature hike, reading and having good conversations.

1 year ago, with my husband’s encouragement, (for which I am SO grateful), I gave up working in the corporate world after 21 years, to work at OSL part-time. This enables me to have a better focus on honoring God and to keep trying to be a blessing to others. I get to spend more time with Adam, and be closer to home. I speak with, see and work with interesting people. Every day is something new, with more opportunities to grow, learn and help. I feel like I am living, not just whizzing through at break-neck speed.
