Easter Food Boxes for families at Langford Elementary School in East Hartford and local families in needÂ
We will begin filling Easter Food Boxes beginning this Sunday, March 5th. Boxes need to be returned by Sunday, March 26th. They will be delivered to families on Friday, March 31st.Â
Please prayerfully consider filling a food box. Boxes are available with a food list inside the box. Shop, fill the box with requested items, and return the full box to the Family Room. Â
Items to include in your Easter Food Box are as follows:Â
Box or Bag of White or Brown RiceÂ
2 Cans or one large bag of Spanish Beans (Kidney, Black, or Pinto)Â
1 Qt ApplesauceÂ
1 Lg Can Sweet PotatoesÂ
4 Cans Vegetables (2 ea of 2 kinds)   Â
64 oz Bottle of 100% Juice     Â
Can or Jar of OlivesÂ
1 Box Hot Roll Mix or BisquickÂ
1 Can Coffee or 1 Box of Tea BagsÂ
1 Box Lemon Bars or Brownie MixÂ
NOTE: As you pack your box, please lay the bottle of juice down in the box. This helps the lid to lay flat and makes the boxes easier to stack. Thank you!Â
The Living CrossÂ
Every year our congregation so generously donates new clothing and gifts to families in need who receive services through East Hartford Youth Services.  In the Narthex there is a large wooden cross with tags that have the name of a child or parent/guardian, their clothing size and suggestions of what to purchase for them.  Please do not feel you need to purchase everything that is listed on the tag. Â
There will be a white copy and a carbon yellow copy of the tag for each child.  Please take the top copy (white) and attach it to the gift bag. Please do not wrap your gift. Â
On the yellow copy write your name and telephone number and place it in the box provided. Â
It is important that all items be brought to OSL NO LATER THAN SUNDAY, MARCH 26TH. Â
The Social Workers need a full week to get these gifts to the families in time for Easter. Thank you for understanding the need for this deadline. Â
Your kindness and generosity is greatly appreciated by these families. Thank you!Â
If you have any questions on Living Cross or Food Boxes, Â you can email Joan Craig, Social Ministries Coordinator at jmc.craig@hotmail.com or text or call (860) 372-0535Â
