FaithQuest Sunday School
FaithQuest is Our Savior Lutheran Church's Sunday school program. It based on a Workshop Rotation model. Students study the same Biblically based lesson for four weeks. They encounter the message through four different experiences. This allows for differences in individual learning styles, by encouraging learning through all the senses and facilitating creative interaction between participants.
Each child is part of a Crew led by an adult Crew Leader, who is a nurturing guide for the students as they go through each of the lessons. The Explorers, our 3-year-olds through Kindergarten students, meet in Rebekkah's room where they learn through playtime, storytelling, prayer time and memory work each week. In addition each week they either participate in crafts, cooking, games or drama during each four week rotation.
The Navigators, our 1st through 5th grade students meet each Sunday in Jonah's Room for music and a brief opening. Accompanied by their Crew Leaders, they then rotate to a different workshop each of the four weeks. They might find themselves learning the lesson and memory verse through games, drama, a craft project, Bible knowledge activities, a video or cooking. Creative and loving leaders staff each workshop.
A Celebration Sunday is held every 5th week. On this Sunday all of the FaithQuest participants meet together in the Family Room for special activities. Part of every Celebration Sunday is spent going over the unit memory work, singing and participating in some type of Mission emphasis.
The Junior Youth Group, grades 6-8, meets upstairs in the Junior Youth Room, next to the Senior youth Room, and adjacent to the choir loft. Each week they meet and discuss Bible topics relevant to teen life.
FaithQuest is staffed by a dedicated, creative and loving group of adults who love the Lord and want to share their love and knowledge with the younger members of our church family. If you ever have questions or concerns, please feel free to ask any of the FQ staff.
